Dance Companies

What is Company?

Our four student companies are comprised of dancers in grades 4-12. Participating in company involves a commitment to class and rehearsal beyond normal class expectations and is intended for dancers who wish to hone their technique and performance skills. Time commitments are included; additional rehearsals may be called in preparation for performances. In addition to regular rehearsals company members will have the opportunity to work with different choreographers in a variety of dance genres, perform throughout the year at various venues in the community, attend the annual Howard County Community Dance Festival (a weekend of master classes and performances culminating in a student showcase), perform in Company productions in December and April, take part in an informal student choreography showcase, and have their work featured in the Kinetics End-of-the-Year showcase. Participation in company involves yearly company dues (listed below) as well as a commitment to fundraising.

Placement Auditions for the 2019-2020 Student Company season will be held as follows:
  • Thursday, August 8th, 7:30-9pm
  • Thursday, August 22nd, 2:30-4pm*
*this audition will occur as part of our week-long
dance intensive, attendance at which is strongly recommended for current and prospective Company Members.
Please note that it is only necessary to attend ONE of the placement auditions.  Admission to our youngest company, Kinetics Kids, is entirely open, with no placement or audition necessary.  Attending one placement audition is required for students eligible to enter Junior, Senior, and Apprentice Companies (grades 6+).
